Description

The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a weapons-free buffer zone between North and South Korea. The area was established on July 27, 1953 when the Armistice Agreement was signed during the Korean War. The zone has been protected from human disturbance for more than seven decades and has unintentionally become a haven for wildlife, making it a popular destination for nature lovers. It is a DMZ tour but we don't get to go inside the DMZ, DMZ is the border and heavily minded area, we go into the military zone which is outside the DMZ and visit 3rd infiltration tunnel dug by North Korea and observatory to see and understand the DMZ and division. By the way, this is DMZ tour not JSA, JSA is the place where the armistice was signed and where the president of the USA went to shake his hand with the Leader of North Korea in 2019, this specific tour, please look for JSA tour.

Itinerary 

- Pick up at your hotel

- Move to Paju city ( Driving 1 hr from Seoul )

- Imjingak park with Freedom Bridge

- Join the DMZ tour bus with your guide

- Visiting 3rd infiltration tunnel, Dora Observatory, Unification village

- Lunch

- Odusan Unification tower

- Move back to Seoul

- Drop your at the hotel

* Paju Imjingak park 

- 177, Imjingak-ro, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do

: Located approximately 56 kilometers from Seoul City Hall and 7 kilometers from DMZ, Imjingak is an important part of Korean history. Imjingak park has various war-related artifacts as well as spacious Pyeonghwa Nuri Park. The park preserves the Freedom Bridge and Imjingang rail bridge from the Korean War to remind people of the past, along with a Memorial Hall, memorial monuments, and recreational areas. you will walk around the park with your guide and lean more about Korean War and DMZ.

* DMZ tour - 3rd infiltration tunnel, Dora observatory and Unification village 

: Since you are visiting the Civilian Control Zone, everyone need to join the DMZ tour bus and your guide will accompany you to the Bus. 

During the tour, you will visit 3rd infiltration tunnel where North Korean dug the tunnel to invade South Korea in 1970s. This tunnel is 1,635 meters long, 2 meters height and 2.1 meters wide. it runs through bedrock at a depth of about 73 meters below ground. you can walk down to the tunnel. you will also visit one of the observatory to see the North Korea. Dora observatory is on the South Korean side of the 38th Parallel. Located on the top of Dosa Mountain, the observatory provides scenic views across the Demilitarized Zone. you can see the North Korean territory through binoculars. Last stop will be Unification village, located inside the Civilian Control Zone, and its serene and peaceful view welcomes the visitors. you can purchase some DMZ souvenirs and some local products at the shop.

* Odudan Unification Observatory 

- 369 Pilseung-ro, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do

: Odusan Unification Observatory is one of the most accessible observatories from Seoul. Located at a summit overlooking the meeting point of the Imjingang and Hangang Rivers, this observatory served as an important strategic facility for soldiers to observe and protect both Gaeseong and Seoul. North Korean land can be seen in detail across the river with the assistance of the binoculars on-site.
